Stop Ford’s reckless power grab – Repeal Bill 5 

As Trump threatens us, Ford’s response is to grab Trump-like powers by passing a new omnibus bill that guts protections for vulnerable wildlife, fast tracks mining and development projects, tramples Indigenous rights, silences local voices and creates law-free zones for trusted proponents or areas as designated by cabinet.  

The new law has little to do with Trump tariffs and everything to do with recklessly and irresponsibly clearing the legislative and regulatory paths for industry and other chosen proponents.  

Our natural world is being sacrificed. And it won’t help us with Trump’s attacks.  

The people of Dresden are being railroaded by Ford to aid a waste management service company. 

Plans are afoot to hand over Indigenous lands to the mining industry and others to do with as they please in law less zones. And it’s not just mining. Law less zones could be applied in the 401, Algonquin Park, cities, nuclear power plants, the Greenbelt. Anywhere. 

This is madness. Let’s be brave and fight this madness together. 

Even though Bill 5, received Royal Assent on June 5, the fight continues. We know Ford is vulnerable when the people are united and speak up for what’s right.  

The Premier is taking us down a dangerous deregulation path. We must stand up for vulnerable wildlife and for each other.
